A met play-by-play

The Met Gala has been organised and presided over by Anna Wintour since 1995. The gala is the most awaited annual celebration of fashion, where key industry personnel gather to support the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. The theme of the exhibit: In America: An Anthology of Fashion. The dress code: Gilded Glamour.

This year the gala was hosted by Hollywood sweethearts Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. The event usually starts with the star-studded red carpet. The guests then, made their way and viewed the exhibit before being seated for dinner.

The menu was designed by 3 female culinary industry disruptors: Amirah Kassem, Melissa King, and Lauren Von Der Pool. The guests were also surprised by live performances from rock icon Lenny Kravitz and country star Kacey Musgraves.

Kim stole the show by wearing the dress worn by Marilyn Monroe, when she sang "Happy Birthday Mr. President" for US President John F Kennedy on his birthday in 1962.
